Final Presentation
Abstract
This is a Wordle reflecting key terms from my literature review. The language in the Wordle perfectly represents the focus on the topic of learning management systems in my Action Research Project. I chose to overlay it on the image of the balloon because it embodies the theme of my AR website. Living near the hot-air balloon launch at the Lackawanna State Park, I often see these spectacles floating gracefully above my house throughout the summer months. This became the theme because it represents reaching new heights in education, covering great distances through online learning, and being in “full sail” with the winds at my back.
Wordle
My Action Research project was focused on building a support and tutorial management website for Keystone College. I felt that if a system like this were in place it would help to redirect many general software use questions to reduce the strain on our support staff. The Media Services website was designed to deliver video lessons and was utilized in a series of eight Blackboard LearnTM trainings in the summer of 2010. Following the trainings, I found that there was a consistent rise in the use of the website as learners were returning for additional training in the Blackboard system. I feel that now that the training system is in place it will be a valuable asset to the Keystone community.
